Bio

South Wales born Rebecca J Hughes is a 3rd Year student studying on Leeds Conservatoire's BA Acting course. In her graduate season, Rebecca will be making her Leeds Playhouse debut as Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, before playing Alyona/Amalia Ivanova in Chris Hannon’s adaptation of Crime and Punishment. Credits in training include; Masha in Chekov's Three Sisters and the title role in Anne Boleyn. Before committing to training for stage and screen, Rebecca trained in musical theatre and is a highly skilled singer/dancer. As an actor, Rebecca is interested in all styles of theatre and thrives in collaborative, ensemble projects. Alongside her acting, Rebecca is always working on a new writing and/or directing project, most recently writing and directing a play addressing men's mental health, inspired by Sam Fender's single, Dead Boys.
