At Leeds Conservatoire we recognise the challenges that young people face when they leave the care system and begin to live independently.
Your UCAS Application
Remember to tick the box on your UCAS application to let us know you have been in care.
This is confidential and won't be assessed as part of your application. It does, however, let our student services team know that you might need financial or other support, and means that we can help you put that in place before you start your course. Find out more about UCAS Undergraduate support for care leavers.
If you would like to talk to our admissions team about your application, please email admissions@lcm.ac.uk
Dedicated Care Leaver contact
If you’re a care leaver and want to talk to someone about the support we can offer, please contact:
Bethany Milner
Student Wellbeing Adviser (Access & Participation)
b.milner@lcm.ac.uk
We also offer wellbeing support to students who are care leavers, including a mentor who can meet with you regularly to help you stay on track with your studies and anything else you might need support with.
Campus Tours
We are happy to organise campus tours for care leavers and foster families, so if you would like to arrange a student-led tour of our facilities you can book a campus tour online.
Go Higher West Yorkshire
Leeds Conservatoire joined Go Higher West Yorkshire in 2019, and is committed to supporting care leavers. Find out more about GHWY’s Care Leaver Covenant. Download the Care Leaver Covenant (.pdf)
