In association with YMf and LCoM Students' Union we present a one-day conference to help prepare you for a career in the music industry.

The opportunities to work and thrive within the wider music industry have arguably never been more plentiful, but accessing these career paths and adapting your newly learnt skills can be easier said than done.

As part of our What Next? day we’ll be holding panel talks from industry experts offering inside advice on how to maximise chances of employment within specific career routes; music teaching and private tuition, publishing, tour management, A&R, music management, composition and licensing, artist management, event promotion and administration.

Presentations and Panel Talks (11:00AM - 7:00PM)
The Venue

Whether a performer, a business start-up, manager or composer the What Next? programme will provide you with practical advice and insight in to potential next steps towards your career aspirations. Some of the guest speakers include representatives from Proper Distribution, Global Radio, PRS / PPL, Universal Publishing and many more.

Exhibitors and Workshops (11:00AM - 3:00PM)
Rooftop Bar

Alongside our panel talks and discussions, exhibiting companies and organisations will be providing employment opportunities and advice on funding that may support your own projects or business ideas. A number of talks and workshops also take place in the Rooftop Bar. Exhibitors include Kycker, Genre Music, Showsec to name just a few.

Artist Performances and A&R Feedback (7:00PM - 10:00PM)
Recital Room

In the evening many of our guest speakers will be sticking around to chat to you and to listen to a handful of our very own exciting LCoM artists.
