The following information is for UK applicants only. EU and International applicants can find audition and interview information here.

UK applicants to certain courses at Leeds College of Music will need to attend an audition or interview. 

The format of your audition/interview will depend on the course you choose. You can find detailed information by downloading and reading our pathway-specific audition/interview guides. 

Audition and interview guides

Acting

Acting applicants will need to attend an audition.

Audition information will be available on our website from September 2019.

Actor Musician

Actor Musician applicants will need to attend an audition.

Audition information will be available on our website from September 2019.

Musical Theatre

Music Theatre applicants will need to attend an audition.

Classical

Classical applicants will need to attend an audition. Applicants combining Classical with another genre will need to complete an audition for each pathway, these will be scheduled on the same day.*

*Applicants combining Classical with Production will be asked to bring a portfolio for assessment on the same day they attend for their Classical audition. 

Film Music

Film Music applicants will need to attend an interview.

Folk

Folk Music applicants will need to attend an audition. 

Jazz

Jazz applicants will need to attend an audition. Applicants combining Jazz with another genre will need to complete an audition for each pathway, these will be scheduled on the same day.*

*Applicants combining Jazz with Production will be asked to bring a portfolio for assessment on the same day they attend for their Jazz audition. 

Music Business

Business applicants will be assessed by UCAS application. If it is not possible to make a decision based on the application then the applicant will be invited to submit a portfolio for assessment. 

Music Production

Production applicants will be asked to submit a portfolio for assessment. If it is not possible to make a decision based on an applicant's application form and portfolio, the applicant will be invited to attend an interview. 

Applicants combining Production with another genre will be asked to bring a portfolio for assessment on the same day they attend for their Classical, Jazz or Popular audition. 

Foundation Degree in Music Production applicants will be assessed by UCAS application. Some applicants may be invited to submit a portfolio for assessment. 

Popular

Popular Music applicants will need to attend an audition. Applicants combining Popular with another genre will need to complete an audition for each pathway, these will be scheduled on the same day.*

*Applicants combining Popular with Production will be asked to bring a portfolio for assessment on the same day they attend for their Popular audition.

Songwriting

Songwriting applicants will need to attend an audition. 

Audition travel costs 2020 entry

Audition fees will no longer be charged for any Undergraduate course at Leeds College of Music. If you are from a household with an income of less than £25,000, and would like to apply for a refund of your travel costs, please download further information and an application form here.
