About the choir

Open to all singers, the LCoM Pop Choir is an opportunity to delve into the decades of popular music from the 1920s to the present day.

Jenny will teach an eclectic repertoire, giving you the chance to explore different styles of harmony singing, including call and response, close harmony, a cappella, and different styles of backing vocals. Material will be taught using a combination of aural and written traditions. During the 30 week course there will be three informal performances.

Choir dates

Pop Choir rehearsals run on a Monday evenings, 8 - 9.30pm each week.

New Members and Taster Sessions

We recruit throughout the year for our Pop Choir. Running from September - July, our Pop Choir members meet for weekly evening rehearsals, and sing in a public performance at the end of each term. If you would like to join the choir, we would love to hear from you. The membership fee is £155, which includes an ID card to access the building, as well as access to our fantastic library facilities  for the remainder of the year.

Why not come and join us for a taster session? You are very welcome to attend the first or second rehearsal of a term free of charge to see if this choir is suitable for you. Please contact the short courses team via shortcourses@lcm.ac.uk to register your interest in attending a free open rehearsal, and we will let Jenny know to expect you.
