..."I get to enhance my skills, meet new friends who are also talented musicians and I get to socialise more."

Can you describe your typical morning at Saturday Music School?

My first class is keyboard skills and I am really enjoying it. We do all different styles of music, like classical music and musical theatre and we have been composing our own music recently. In vocal skills with Laura we sing ballads. At the moment we are doing some acapella which is really interesting because I’ve not sung acapella before. Laura always makes sure we all have an individual part each which is great. In band practice with Chris, we are working on a lot of original covers. One of my favourite covers that we have done in the past is “Chasing Pirates” by Norah Jones.

What is your favourite thing about Saturday Music School?

I get to enhance my skills, meet new friends who are also talented musicians and I get to socialise more.

How has Saturday Music School helped you improve as a musician?

Saturday Music School has helped me with building confidence because I get to do more concerts and get more experience of singing in front of people.

What are your musical aims and ambitions?

I would like to be a professional singer and perform in concerts for a living.

Thank you, Olivia!
