We want to ensure that no one turns down a place at SMS due to the cost.

Bursary applications for 2018/19 are now open. Please see the 'How to Apply' section below.

We have a bursary fund that supports students and their families dependent on their situation.

We have a fixed amount allocated for bursaries in our budget and we will look at each application on a case by case basis. We allocate partial bursaries wherever possible, totaling a percentage of the fee.  In 2017/18 we were able to award bursaries between 7% - 69% of the full fee.

Bursary levels for 2018-19:

  • Household income under £16,190 (the level at which you receive free prescriptions and free school meals) = full bursary where possible
  • Household income between £16,190 and £42,620 = partial bursary where possible
