Open Days for 2018/19 Entry

..."I get to enhance my skills, meet new friends who are also talented musicians and I get to socialise more."

Do you love music?

Do you want to...

  • Fast track your music skills?
  • Meet other like-minded young musicians and make friends?
  • Work with professional musicians and take part in performance opportunities?

What happens on Open Day?

Our friendly open days are designed to give you the opportunity to see what it’s really like to play and study at Leeds College of Music.

  • You will get a tour of Leeds College of Music and see Saturday Music School in action, even check out our state-of-the-art Mac Labs. Staff and students will be around to answer any questions.
  • On the Experience and Performance Open Days, there will be a chance to play or sing and perform with other young musicians in an exciting workshop led by inspiring professional musician, Krishna Thiruchelvam.
  • On the SMS Target Open Day you will be introduced to new instruments and have a chance to try your two favourites. You will also be able to take part in a fun music workshop
  • On the SMS Tech Open Day you will spend a morning working with our existing students in the studio and Mac Labs.

"Before I came to Saturday Music School, I only played classical guitar solo but now I can play rock and pop music as part of a band."

Group A: 1pm - 1.45pm

Group B: 2pm - 2.45pm

There is no need to prepare anything for your audition.

Musicians will rehearse together in a band/ensemble and learn a new piece of music as a group. We are looking for young musicians who work well together, are open to new ideas and make a positive contribution to the rehearsal.

Once we have received your registration form (which can be found at the top of the course page) we will confirm audition arrangements for those wishing to audition the week before Open Day.
