Leeds College of Music's jazz degree was the first in the UK, and over the last 50 years we've become a leading authority in jazz across the UK and Europe.

Improvisation is the very essence of jazz, and a way of life at Leeds College of Music. You’ll play with Jazz musicians from all backgrounds, from raw talent to polished, and from progressive to purist.

One-to-one Tuition

You’ll learn one-to-one with experts in your specialism such as Jamil Sheriff, Dave Walsh, Ivo Neame and Lauren Kinsella.

You'll also recieve regular masterclasses from illustrious musicians and record labels.

Facilities Open Until 3am

Our industry-standard studios and practice rooms are open until 3am in term-time, and by attending the only English conservatoire to hold the coveted All-Steinway School status you will be practicing and performing on Steinway pianos.

You will also have access to our extensive jazz archive, which holds an impressive range of original manuscripts, printed music, memorabilia and recordings.
