Pippa Anderson

Pippa Anderson has had 18 years experience working with both the spoken and the singing voice. She began her studies at Dartington College of Arts, Devon, she trained on ‘The Knack’ at English National Opera’s Baylis Programme and on a postgraduate and professional acting course at The Academy Drama School, London. Pippa holds a Certificate in Education (a teaching qualification - further and higher education), a Post Graduate Certificate in Professional Practice (Vocal Pedagogy/Vocal Health - Distinction) and, she is currently researching voice on an MLitt programme at Newcastle University.

Past appointments include Consultant Teacher of Spoken Voice at SLP, Singing Teacher at New College Durham (BTec and Music Degree), and Vocal Studies Leader for Centre for Advanced Training Programme at Sage Gateshead.

Currently, Pippa works as a Voice and Performance Coach at Newcastle University and she also works freelance coaching actors, artists and theatre companies. She facilitates workshops and masterclasses for the speaking and singing voice and has a busy private practice which she runs from home. Pippa has a special interest in working with people who have vocal problems and voice users who suffer from performance anxiety.

Professional appointments are varied and include: vocal training for Project A at Theatre Royal, Newcastle (2018); public speaking workshops at Northern Stage in partnership with Mortal Fools (2018); voice coach for Bravo 22’s production entitled, ‘Unspoken,’ with performances at Theatre Royal (2017) and Edinburgh Festival (2018); facilitating Turner Prize winner, Jeremy Deller’s vision, coaching people from the general public to perform Martin Luther King’s honorary degree presentation speech made in 1967 (Freedom City, Wunderbar and Mortal Fools, 2017); and a 5 day vocal intensive with Camisado Theatre Company (2017).
