Paul Statham is an established songwriter/producer/sound artist and has been one of Warner Chappell publisher’s longest serving writers being signed for over 20 years.

He writes across the board from contemporary pop (co-writing Dido’s breakthrough world wide hit single “here with me” and the title track “No Angel” of the 20 million selling album, UK no 1 Us no 2), to pure pop, writing and producing 2 songs on Kylie Minogue’s biggest selling album ‘Fever’ (7 million copies, which was a UK no 1 and US no 3).

Other pop artists include X factor winner Matt Cardle , co writing his single ‘it’s only Love’ from his top 10 UK album The Fire along with other artists including

The Saturday’s, Emma Bunton, Sophie Ellis Bextor and many more.

He has written with many international artists including the lead song Acacia from the Italian X factor winner Noemi’s Italian no 1 album “Made in London” (2015) , “Destination Unknown” from Australian ballad singer Tina Arena’s domestic no 1 album “Reset: (2015) and Fly like the Wild Geese form Danish electro artist Hannah Schneider.

He is noted however for his long standing writing and performing with Gothic Icon and former Bauhaus singer Peter Murphy which has been ongoing for over 25 years and they are now co-writing their tenth album. Their song “Cuts You Up’ was a US modern rock billboard no one for 12 weeks and pushed the leftfield album “Deep” to a US top 40. It was recently commissioned for the US hit TV series American Horror Story featuring Lady Gaga.

His electro pop band ‘Peach’ formed with producer Pascal Gabriel had a US hit with the single ‘On My Own’ from the album Audiopeach and was released through Daniel Millers Mute label and featured in the hit film ‘Sliding Doors’.

He launched his own project “The Dark Flowers” baswed on Sam Shepards book “Motel Chronicles’ and featuring guest vocalists he has worked with including Simple Minds Jim Kerr, Peter Murphy, Massive Attacks Dot Allison and Norwegian electro star Kate Havnevik amonst others.

Recently he has been writing with Scottish rock legends Simple Minds, including the track “Kill or Cure” from their last top 10 album ‘Big Music” and developing new artists for Warner Chappell.  He has also co written and produced 6 songs for the new album (feb 2017)  from 90’s star’s Right Said Fred. He is also an established sound installation artist making abstract music /videos and has had over 20 shows in in UK and European galleries. This instrumental music is in the process of being released. He is a module leader for ‘writing for commission’ at BIMM London, visiting Professor of Music at Leeds college of music and runs the weekly BA songwriting workshops at Solent University.
