Neil Myers is a part time Lecturer on the Foundation Degree, BA Music Production and MA Music Production courses. He teaches modules in Compositional Techniques and Music for Moving Image.

A classically trained composer specialising in orchestral scores for TV and film, Neil studied at Leeds College of Music before completing an MA in Composition for Film and Television, in which he won the Wilfred Joseph award for best film and theatre work.

Neil has worked professionally for two decades and his scores have covered a multitude of genres, including documentaries, sports promos and titles, advertising, theatre, channel branding and idents, films, trailers and animation; His work has seen collaborations with David Arnold, Katherine Jenkins, Penka Kouneva (Orchestrator - Matrix, Transformers & Elysium) The Rodolfus and Welsh National Choirs and The Bratislava, Prague and Royal Philharmonic Orchestras.

His work can be seen on the BBC, Sky Sports, Sky Arts, ITV, Channel 4, Channel Five, Discovery, Bravo, Cartoon Network and Sky One.

As well as being a BAFTA nominee (Guinness Rugby Premiership), he has also twice been the recipient of the prestigious Gold Promax award (British Lions Tour of New Zealand and RBS Golf) a campaign media award for best transport advert (Citroen DS5) and a Royal Television Society award (Best sports title sequence – British Lions Tour of New Zealand) and co-writing the first and fifth seasons to Cartoon Network's The Amazing World of Gumball, which has received a number of awards including a British Academy, Royal Television Society and an International Emmy.
