Dane Chalfin is Associate Professor of Vocal Coaching and Rehabilitation at Leeds College of Music. One of the UK's leading vocal and performance coaches, Dane's clients have included charting bands/artists like Hurts, Delphic, Courtney Love, The Whip, Wu Lyf, Embrace and Everything Everything; performers like Peter Kay, Justin Lee Collins, Denise Welch and Claire Sweeney; West End productions of Rock of Ages, Wind in the Willows, Sunny Afternoon and Motown; National Tours of The Producers, Wicked, Shout, Saturday Night Fever, and Jesus Christ Superstar; and record labels including Sony, Columbia, Universal and many independents. Dane’s TV work includes The One Show, The Voice and Eurovision.

Dane also holds one of the only official NHS appointments for a vocal coach rehabilitating injured professional singers as part of a multidisciplinary voice clinic. He consults with leading voice clinics in Manchester, Leeds and London. He is a long-time Director of the British Voice Association and a past-President (2015-2016) and is vocal advisor to the Medical Board of the British Association for Performing Arts (BAPAM).  Dane’s clinical research into the physiology of contemporary singing techniques including Primal Sound has been presented at many international conferences.

Published works include TC-Helicon’s Ultimate Guide to Singing, Bloomsbury’s The Singer-Songwriter Handbook and the 2nd edition of the seminal Voice Clinics Handbook available from Compton Publishing.
