Alexander Halliday (BA, PGCert PA) is a Senior Lecturer in Music Production who teaches on the Foundation Degree and BA Music Production Programs as well as Music Production short courses and Summer schools for the conservatoire. His specialist areas are Computer Music Technology and Studio Recording.
Alex is an Apple Certified Pro Trainer and Avid Pro-tools Operator.
He is the module leader for the first year Specialist Group study and Software Environments modules, which include MIDI sequencing, digital audio recording and editing, mixing and mastering. He delivers the Logic Pro X official training program to the first year Production cohorts as part of the curriculum.
He is also responsible for the first year Practical Audio Production module on the Foundation Degree.
Alex was a professional musician fronting the band To The Fountain, who released the The Horse Won’t Lie Down on Heron Records in 1988.
The band continued to be active until 1996 and enjoyed a healthy following particularly in the Benelux area of Europe where the album was re-released on Mascot records for the European market.
He continues to write and produce his own music as well as to produce and mix music for local artists. Alex has worked and continues to work with performing arts organisations and the public services such as Opera North, Yorkshire Dance and West Yorkshire Police.
