Leeds Conservatoire collaborate with a variety of festivals across the UK to create work experience and performance opportunities for our current students and alumni.

The Artistry & Enterprise team work closely with festival organisers to deliver tailored packages specific to student requirements, whether that be as performers or staff members. 

Application windows for Liverpool Sound City and We Out Here Festival are now live. 

Current Festival Applications

This Summer/Autumn the Leeds Conservatoire Enterprise and Marketing Depts. are excited to announce showcase opportunities and paid work placements at Cambridgeshire's We Out Here Festival, and Liverpool's Sound City Festival, taking place on the following dates:

Performance Opportunities

We are looking for current Leeds Conservatoire student bands or artists (all pathways) to apply to both opportunities. Class of 2020 graduates are also welcomed to apply for We Out Here Festival.

Transport will be provided by the Conservatoire (and camping locations made available for WOH festival).

The application deadline for both festivals is Wednesday 7th July, 12PM. Applications will be reviewed later that week, and successful applicants will be notified w/c 12/7/21.

Work Placement Opportunities

Leeds Conservatoire have partnered with We Out Here to provide four paid work placement opportunities. The Management Support Team (MST) scheme offers live event experience in stage management and artist liaison. There will be two paid roles in each position. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work alongside highly trained events staff and be provided with an opportunity to learn on the job. The roles are paid and will be treated with high levels of expectation.

  • Payment: £9/hour
  • Hours: Each applicant will be required to work 40-45 hour over the course of the festival (Thursday 19th August – Sunday 22nd August 2021)
  • Availability: Applicants must be available for the full duration of the festival and be willing to work unsociable hours.
  • Application deadline: WEDNESDAY 14TH JULY, 12PM. Applications will be reviewed later that week.
  • Current third year students, postgraduate students and Class of 2020 graduates are eligible to apply.
  • Transport, camping, a ticket to the festival, food and drink will be provided.

Previous Experiences

Previous experiences include, sending 25 Leeds Conservatoire DJ's to Leeds Festival, to curate and perform at the campsite stages over the bank holiday weekend. We've curated showcase stages at The Alternative Great Escape and Liverpool Sound City and organised performers, curators and staff for festivals such as Long Division and We Out Here.
