This fund is aimed at supporting our students in gaining valuable experiences on top of the day to day experience received as part of their studies at the conservatoire. We can support individuals up to the value of £500 for both online and in person experiences.
The Experience fund is open to all students across all pathways at Leeds Conservatoire.
We do however focus on different year groups for different application windows.
There are two application windows throughout the academic year, in the first and second semester:
- Semester 1: 24/10/22 - 21/11/22
- Semester 2: 6/3/23 - 3/4/23
If you are unable to submit your application via the form, we will accept a video submission instead. Please contact EaE@lcm.ac.uk for further information, or to submit a video application.
What we can support:
- Course fees for online short courses, residentials etc.
- Attendance at an online conference or seminar.
- Online Mentoring – you should state who the mentor will be.
- Experiences that have already been paid for, but yet to be undertaken.
- Travel to an experience
What we can’t support:
- Purchase of physical equipment or products, for example software, instruments, electrical equipment, vehicles.
- Marketing and PR.
- Costs of releases – eg pressing vinyl, CDs, cassette tapes, digital releases.
- Anything that would ordinarily be provided by your course.
- Experiences that have already been undertaken/completed/partially completed.*
- Undergraduate or postgraduate courses, audition fees or any other similar expense in a conservatoire or higher education institution.
- Physical products
- Venue Hire
- Photography / video – this is covered in the Subsidised Fund.
- Additional instrumental lessons.
- Any expenses associated with setting up or running a business - you must apply through Subsidised Funding and the Proof of Concept support.
- Those who have already received support from the Employability and Enterprise team this academic year.
* You can still apply for this funding if you have already signed up and paid for an experience, but only provided it hasn't happened already.
- You will be notified when the application window is open. We will not accept any late submissions.
- To apply you will need to complete an online form and explain why you feel your chosen item is of benefit.
- Applications won’t be reviewed until the application window has closed.
- Each application will be considered by a panel of conservatoire staff, and if successful you will be granted the funding.
- Please do allow up to 30 days to receive your funding once it is granted- keep this in mind when selecting the experience you would like support with.
- For unsuccessful applicants we will provide feedback to support you in future submissions.
Please make sure you have read all of the supporting documentation prior to applying.
Applications that don’t meet the criteria outlined will not be considered for support.
