UK based Saxophonist and Educator Jim Corry (BA Hons) is a recognised and respected performer, having toured extensively throughout the UK, Europe, US, Japan, South America, Russia South Africa, and Australia. With numerous performances at internationally recognised venues, he continues to develop his reputation and international profile as a talented and versatile musician.
Born in 1976, Jim started playing the Saxophone at the age of 14 under the tutelage of Ray Scott, a leading woodwind player on the London scene. At the age of 18, Jim left London and moved North to study Jazz at Leeds College of Music. During his time at LCM, Jim became well known amongst his contemporaries and also branched out from playing the Alto exclusively and is now comfortable on Soprano, Tenor and Baritone Saxophones.
After graduating from LCM with a BA Hons in Jazz Studies, he started playing professionally, quickly establishing himself in the North's thriving music scene. In the years that followed, he has performed throughout the world in a variety of musical settings and genres.
Most recently Jim has been recording and touring with the band Jamiroquai and is featured on their number one platinum selling album 'Rock Dust Light Star'. He has been touring with the band since May 2010 and highlights so far have included supporting Stevie Wonder at Rock In Rio Brazil and Hyde Park London, performing at the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony 2010, performing at Sydney Harbour New Years Eve Concert 2011 and a South American tour.
Before Jamiroquai, Jim toured extensively with Brit award winning producer Mark Ronson with whom he was lucky enough to work and perform with artists including; Jay-Z, Lilly Allen, Duran Duran, Rhymefest, Wiley and Daniel Merriweather. Jim has recently recorded again with Mark Ronson for The Gossip's forth coming album.
Previous to the Mark Ronson tours, Jim toured the world for two years with Grammy award winning singer-songwriter Corinne Bailey Rae, after recording on her number one multi platinum selling self titled album. Jim can be heard on many of the tracks including 'Put Your Records On', 'I'd Like To', 'Breathless' and 'Trouble Sleeping' - ( you can also see Jim perform in the 'Trouble Sleeping' music video! ).

He is currently writing and rehearsing material for his debut solo album and promoting his other jazz projects including - Jim Corry Quartet, A Tribute to Atlantic Jazz, The Jim Corry / Rob Mitchel Quintet and Nascent septet.
He is currently teaching saxophone for Leeds College of Music LCoM for their BA Hons Music (Jazz) degree course.
