Course Leader: Foundation Degree

Jez Pritchatt is Course Leader for the Foundation Degree programmes.  He teaches across the College’s HE courses, focussing on music industry, business skills & professional development as well as music production and composition. His particular areas of musical specialism are 50s rock 'n' roll, glam rock and 70s punk.

Jez studied musical instrument making before completing a BSc (Hons) in Music Technology.  Prior joining Leeds College of Music he held posts as a Music Technology & Popular Music lecturer in London & Doncaster.

Jez has been a guitarist and songwriter in various rock bands since the 1970s.  He has had various recordings released by ‘Girls At Our Best!’ & ‘The Tall Boys’ and has performed extensively, including in the USA and Europe.  Career highlights include a No.1 single in UK Indie chart with ‘Girls At Our Best!’ (whose album has been reissued several times), ‘The Tall Boys’ contributing to the soundtrack of George Romero's 'Return of The Living Dead', and forming ‘Sadodada!’ with Jonny Slut of ‘Nag Nag Nag’ (fans included Boy George).  He was also the booking manager at the world famous Marquee Club for several years. 

Jez recently played several European festivals with the recently reformed Tall Boys, who also released a very well received new album, ‘One’. He continues to work on various musical projects, including his debut solo album ‘Grievous Bodily Charm'.
