Adam Martin (BA (Hons), MA) is a Senior Lecturer in Musicianship, working predominantly on the BA Popular Music and BA Music Production programmes as well as undertaking some postgraduate provision. His specialisms include studio recording, electronic music, critical musicology and ideological analysis.
Adam is the recipient of a PhD Scholarship from the University of Hull where he is conducting interdisciplinary research employing phenomenological and musicological research methods to explore the role of music producers in the twenty-first century. This doctoral research has been presented at national and international conferences alongside studies exploring the nature of the music studio and collaborative creativity.
Alongside his research and teaching commitments, Adam is also an active music producer, composer and performer. He is a founding member of the electronic ensemble, ‘Nightports’, who have had works played at international conferences and festivals as well as being featured on several compilations and blogs. Adam also plays guitar and bass for a variety of different ensembles and continues to be an active performer.
