Alexander Halliday (BA, PGCert PA) is a Music Production lecturer who teaches on the Foundation Degree and BA Music (Production).
His specialist areas are Computer Music Technology and Studio Recording.
Alex is responsible for the first year Specialist Group study and Software Environments modules, which include MIDI sequencing and editing, digital audio recording and editing and mixing and mastering.
He is also responsible for the first year Practical Audio Production module on the Foundation Degree and is an Apple certified trainer who delivers and integrates the Apple Logic Pro 9 Level 1 course into the college curriculum.
Alex was a professional singer/songwriter fronting To The Fountain, who released the The Horse Wont Lie Down on Heron Records in 1988.
The band continued to be active until 1996 and enjoyed a healthy following particularly in the Benelux area of Europe where the album was re-released on Mascot records for the European market.
He currently continues to write and produce his own music as well as to compose record and produce for performing arts organisations and the public services such as Opera North, Yorkshire Dance and West Yorkshire Police.
