Christophe de Bezenac

Christophe de Bezenac is the Research Officer for the ESRC funded Investigating Musical Performance (IMP) project at Leeds College of Music, where he is also a lecturer and instrumental tutor.

After graduating from the Strasbourg Conservatoire in contemporary improvised music and composition in 2000, Christophe de Bezenac went on to study Sundanese gamelan music at The Institute for Traditional Performing Arts (STSI) in West Java, Indonesia. He undertaking a PhD at the University of Leeds; his research interests include improvisatory genres, perception and cognition of music, instrumental experimentation, and human-computer interaction.

Collaborating with musicians from diverse musical backgrounds, Christophe is actively involved in the Leeds/UK music scene and has performed at a number of contemporary music and jazz festivals (e.g. Musica, Gateshead International Jazz Festival, and London Jazz Festival).
