Video: composers shine on Film Night

Industry judges critique student work

A panel of industry judges including composer Harry Escott and director Stefan Gordon critiqued the work of student film music composers at our Film Night on 3 December.

Principal lecturer Brian Morrell hosted the event with Production lecturer, Alex Halliday – presenting work by students on the Music for the Moving Image module on BA (Hons) Music (Production), including both library music and music set to specific images.

Alumni Ben Rawles and Josh Broughton returned to present their own work on stage, and Brian Morrell also interviewed alumni Daniel Suett and Alex Redfern live from Hollywood, where they live and work.

The Music for the Moving Image module is evolving into a new degree pathway in Film Music, which will enrol its first students in September 2016. The module itself will still also be available to students on the Production pathway.

Music by second-year Production student, Ben Stanbridge. Film by Unity House.
