Nubiyan Twist release new single

Jazz & Production alumni band prepare new album

Twelve piece outfit Nubiyan Twist have released their latest single Work House ahead of their hotly anticipated debut album launch at the end of March.

The group's work reflects an eclectic mix of jazz, soul, dub, hip-hop and afrobeat. Quoting notable influences such as Herbie Hancock, Fela Kuti and King Tubby, the band aims to promote cultural and social unity through their unique style of music.

Featuring Jazz alumni Nubiya Brandon, Finn Booth, Oliver Cadman, Jonny Enser, Nick Richards, Denis Scully, Alec Hewes and Joe Henwood; and Production alumni, Luiz Adami, Tom Excell and Josh Podbury; as well as Tom Davison – the band have played alongside musicians such as De La Soul and fellow Leeds College of Music alumna Ruby Wood (Submotion Orchestra) since forming over three years ago. Their latest song was produced and recorded by Tom Excell at Henwood Studios in Oxfordshire.

The video for Work House, featured above, was also directed, filmed and edited by Production alumnus, Jack Benson, of Her Films.

You can follow the band on social media via Twitter, SoundCloud and Facebook. If you would like to download the latest single, you can buy it on iTunes here.
