The evening provides a wonderful opportunity to experience the unique art of playing the Veena; kept alive by one the very best of the next generation young UK artists Arani Sivapathasundaram. Named after the Hindu goddess Saraswati, the Veena is an Indian plucked string instrument dating back to the 17th Century. A member of the lute family; the majestic sound of the Veena often conjures up thoughts of mystical India and glorious sunsets over the Indian Ocean.
