Music Production students get involved during Induction and Projects Week
The Music Production department will be welcoming both new and existing students back to the College with an exciting and informative programme of events, spanning a broad range of practical and academic areas.
Third year BA (Hons) Music Production students can look forward to a consultation session with Professor Malcolm Toft and the newly appointed Visiting Professor in Music Production and Recording, Mick Glossop. Each student will be be invited to discuss their production work and processes with these world class industry experts.
Level Two BA (Hons) Music Production and FD Commercial Music Production and Recording students, in collaboration with BA (Hons) Popular Music Studies students, will be set the task to produce a workable demo in four hours. Demos will be critiqued by a panel of music industry experts; Matt Hay, Bruce Wood and Joel Harrison.
Students from Level Two FD Music and Sound Production for the Moving Image will be given a film which they will have five days to score the music for. The film will then be screened to the award winning film maker, Stefan Gordon to critique.
First year BA (Hons) Music Production students will be invited to take part in a number of events happening across College, including Protools and Logic workshops and mixing sessions.
To round the week off, students across all diciplines will be invited to The Venue Bar for a networking session with Industry Partners, College staff, students and alumni. This will also give those involved, the opportunity to hear music produced by Music Production and Popular Music students during the week.
