Music Production alumni nominated for BBC Radio 2 Folk Award
Music Production alumni Katriona Gilmore and Jamie Roberts have been nominated for a BBC Radio 2 Folk Award. They are nominated in the 'Horizon' category.
Multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Katriona and guitarist/vocalist Jamie Roberts graduated from the Music Production degree in 2007.
Katriona and Jamie have been performing together on the folk scene since 2006 and released their self-penned debut album Shadows & Half Light in November 2008. Their unique sound has been recognised with several accolades including winning Bright Young Things 2007 and New Roots 2007.
The BBC Folk Awards is an occasion to celebrate folk music and the people who make it. The event was started in 1999 as a way of celebrating the folk world's achievements, an opportunity to get artists and industry people together and thank them for their work over the previous twelve months.
It's also a chance to showcase to the media just some of the artists and music that we, the people who work in the industry, have been particularly proud of during the year.
