Amy Syed provided backing vocals for musician Patrick Wolf at London Palladium on Sunday 15 November.
Patrick performed songs from his latest album, The Bachelor, and songs from his catalogue as they were originally intended to be heard with a live string section and gospel choir. He was joined on stage by Florence and the Machine.
Jen Armstrong is close to completing her second Open University validated course at the College. Having progressed from the BA (Hons) Popular Music Studies to the MA Performance in 2008, Jen is now making the most of the experience, contacts and opportunities gained through her time at the College.
In early 2009, Jen – a vocalist who performs with a number of pop and jazz bands in Leeds – was offered the opportunity to go to London and work with acclaimed producer/songwriter Dr Richard Niles on the recording of a professional demo.
Amy Syed recently graduated from the BA (Hons) Popular Music Studies degree and was awarded the Leeds College of Music Prize for Singing (Jazz and Popular Style). A vocalist with the White Keys, Amy is currently performing a band residency in Warsaw.
