Live at Leeds at The Venue - Plank!

Plank! - The Venue, Leeds College of Music, 4pm Plank!, a trio from the backstreets of Manchester's seediest side, who are best known for their dark rhythmic experimental instrumental sprawlings and electronic soundscapes, will be playing at The Venue at 4pm as part of this year's Live at Leeds festival. Plank! In their short existence Plank! have already shared the stage and dance floor with likeminded souls Fujiya & Miyagi, The Phantom Band, Crystal Antlers, The Time & Space Machine, Zombie Zombie, Lung, Rotter And Seven and Onedia and are due to release their debut EP on DIY institution aA Recordings. Plank! featured in this week's Guardian singles review, with writer Tim Howard stating; "Think Fugazi crossed with Slint crossed with Stereolab crossed with awesome." View Plank's myspace page here. On Saturday 1 May over 150 bands will be descending on Leeds to take part in what can only be described as the best day of live music in the land. Tickets are still available now but with the festival’s sell-out reputation chances are they won’t be for long! Leeds College of Music is one of the many venues which will be taking part in this massive all-day event.
