The inaugural Leeds International Songwriting Conference (LISC) takes place at Leeds College of Music from Thursday 8 to Friday 9 March 2012. LISC is an annual event focusing on songwriting practice including research addressing education and approaches to composition and arranging. The conference will offer a unique forum for musicians, academics, educators, students and music industry stakeholders to engage with the latest developments and practices in songwriting.

LISC will host a number of distinguished keynote speakers and participants including Jeremy Lascelles (former CEO of Chrysalis Music UK), Ivor Novello award winning songwriter Iain Archer (Snow Patrol, Leona Lewis), producers Charlie Russell and Brad Spence (Jamiroquai, Radiohead, Paul Weller), the legendary Peter Hook (Joy Division, New Order) and a number of representatives from British Music Inc. (BMI) for a panel-based discussion.

LISC 2012 will offer a unique learning and networking experience for industry professionals, educators and students. Leeds College of Music is a BASCA (British Association of Songwriters, Composers and Arrangers) Academic Supporter.
