Leeds College of Music tutor launches debut album at the London Jazz Festival
The London Jazz Festival in association with BBC Radio 3 returns for its 17th year with a jam-packed programme that is truly reflective of the diverse nature of the capital.
From stars of the American jazz tradition and key players on the European scene through to free musical thinkers and the best of British.
A number of events feature Leeds College of Music jazz alumni - including
Dave Kane's acclaimed Rabbit Project, a duo performance featuring
Kathy Dyson and
Nikki Iles performing a two-day festival residency.
Bassist
Dave Kane leads a new quintet whose debut record on Edition combines his frenetic freeform approach with the feverish virtuosity of maverick keyboardist Matthew Bourne to explosive effect. More info

Renowned pianist
Nikki Iles has worked with the cream of the UK jazz throughout her distinguished award-winning career, including Norma Winstone and Kenny Wheeler. She appears at the LJF with her fine trio in the first of a two-Sunday residency at The Forge. More info
