Jazz Yorkshire launches FUTURES2 mentoring scheme
Applications are now invited for FUTURES2, the second year of Jazz Yorkshire's mentoring scheme for early career musicians living in the Yorkshire/Humber region. Leeds College of Music is a partner in the project.
The scheme has been set up to mentor and help up-and-coming jazz musicians from the region as they develop their career as jazz musicians. It offers practical mentoring as well as a commission to write and record some new music for their chosen ensemble.
The selected musicians will benefit from:
- £500 Commission for writing new work
- Personal mentoring (with mentor of your choice)
- Practical workshop sessions
- Two days studio time to record your band
- Support to produce promotional CD / website and flyers
- Undertake tour around the Jazz Yorkshire Promoter Network in the Spring 2011
The applicants can be of any age but due to funding sources for this scheme, preference will be given to musicians who have have graduated from Higher Education within the 3 past years.
