James Hamilton to launch new album at Seven Arts

Award winning Northern Irish composer and Leeds College of Music BA/MA graduate James Hamilton will be performing with his 19-piece Jazz Orchestra at Seven Arts in Chapel Allerton on Sunday 9 May. The gig marks the release of the Orchetra's latest recording, The Causeway Suite, a nostalgia filled musical tour of the picturesque Antrim coastline. The album was recorded live at The Venue, Leeds College of Music in December 2009 and features some of the most dynamic players on the Leeds jazz scene, including Leeds College of Music alumni James Russell, Si Kaylor and Jim Corry. James Hamilton James’ compositions have been played by the Doncaster Jazz Orchestra, NYJO, The Trinity College of Music Big Band and Jambone (feat. Tim Garland). This summer his work will be featured with The Voice of the North Jazz Orchestra at the Bridge Hotel Newcastle, 4 July.
