Ashley Hicklin achieves success at this year's Eurovision Song Contest

Ashley Hicklin Leeds College of Music alumnus Ashley Hicklin achieved success this weekend when the song he co-wrote for this year's Eurovision Song Contest came 6th in the competition. Alongside Jeroen Swinnen, Ashley wrote the song Me and My Guitar for Tom Dice, runner-up of Belgium's version of the X-Factor and the person selected to perform in this year's Eurovision Song contest for Belgium.  The song reached number 1 in the Belgium charts and was extremely well received during the Eurovision Song Contest, finishing 6th overall. After graduating from the BA Music degree in 2007, Ashley Hicklin signed a worldwide publishing deal with EMI which has led to him collaborating with and writing songs for a number of hit artists across Europe.
