International tuition fees

Fees for 2017 entry and money matters

The table below shows the tuition fees for your course and further information about how and when to pay your fees.
The information on these pages applies to those who qualify as international students.  Fee status is determined by the regulations laid down by the UK Government and these rules are complex. You can read more about fee status at the UKCISA website.
If there is any doubt about your tuition fee status when you apply, this is checked  by the conservatoire and you may be asked to supply certain documents or answer specific questions in order for us to come to a decision.  If you have any concerns about which level of tuition fees you should be paying, please email

For more information, please read our Frequently Asked Questions

Tuition fees stated are provisional and subject to approval by the Leeds College of Music Board

How and when to pay your tuition fees
International students are required to pay the fee in full at or before enrolment. If you require a CAS number to obtain a Tier 4 study Visa you will be required to pay 50% of the fee before a CAS number is issued, and the balance before enrolment. If your Visa application is declined or you do not meet your offer conditions, the amount paid will be refunded, after deduction of an administration fee.  Please note that CAS numbers cannot be issued until you have met your offer requirements.  You can find more information about Visas here.
All fees must be paid in £ sterling.  You can pay by Credit Card, (not American Express), International Money Order, Bank transfer, UK Debit card or UK Cheque.  To make a card payment over the telephone, or an international bank transfer, please contact our Finance Department on +44 (0)113 222 3471 or +44 (0)113 2223450.  (In the Summer before you arrive we will send you further information about payment of tuition fees, with the enrolment information)
USA applicants – Please note that unfortunately we are not part of the US Federal Loan systems, or any other private US loan scheme.  This means that you must be able to fund your own living costs and tuition fees.

Alumni discounts
A discount of 10% is available for International or Home/EU students who proceed from an Undergraduate course at LCoM, onto a Postgraduate course at Leeds College of Music.
Scholarships and Bursaries for International students
Applicants who pay the International tuition fee rate will be eligible for a scholarship of £2,000 per year (for undergraduate level courses only). If you are offered a scholarship you will be notified in your offer letter, after the assessment of your application and audition/interview materials. The scholarship will be given as a fee reduction for each year of study, subject to passing each year of study without any repeat years or re-assessments.
