Support and Welfare

We understand the pressures students can face whilst studying music at a specialist institution, and that things don’t always go to plan. Our experienced advisers are here to offer support, advice and information on a wide range of non-academic issues. This includes matters relating to your general health and wellbeing, disability advice as well as individual support for international students.
We are located on the fourth floor of the main building, and are available all year round.

Student Health and Wellbeing

We take your health and wellbeing seriously at Leeds College of Music. A full programme of workshops, in-house clinics and awareness days are on offer to ensure you can take responsibility for health and wellbeing issues.  We focus on providing relevant support, when you need it most.
From performance enhancement workshops and Alexander Technique classes, to hearing checks- there are plenty of opportunities throughout the year to address any health or wellbeing concerns you may have.

International Student Support

Coming to study in a new place can be an exciting, yet daunting experience. Our International Wellbeing Officer is on hand to provide advice and information to each student individually - sharing local knowledge and helping with cultural matters.
We also arrange activities and events such as the monthly World Harmony Café, where you can meet fellow international and UK students.

Your mental wellbeing is one of the most important factors enabling you to fulfil your potential, and in recognition of this the conservatoire has a well-established, free counselling service available to all its students. Our counsellors are trained and experienced in supporting students. Seeking the help of a counsellor gives you the opportunity to talk over your concerns in complete privacy and in confidence.
