Open University Validation

The College's Foundation, Undergraduate and Postgraduate Diploma and Degree programmes are validated by the Open University. This means that our graduates receive an Open University degree rather than a degree from Leeds College of Music, as the College does not have degree awarding powers. The Open University is the UK's largest university with over 200,000 students on its own distance learning courses and has been voted top for student satisfaction for the last three years.

The Open University currently validates degree programmes at 40 institutions in the UK and overseas. Validation of external degrees is part of the Open University's mission to widen access to education, with more than 60,000 students having studied on over 300 validated courses in the last 10 years.
