Carl Vincent
PhD, MMus, FNCM, FVCM, FRSA, LRAM, PGCE, FHEA

Dr Carl Vincent is Senior Lecturer in Classical Music. Prior to this position he was Course Leader for the Music Foundation (Music) and Access Programmes. Carl teaches on the BA (Music), Access, ND Classical, ND Jazz and BTEC Foundation courses.  He teaches modules in Harmony and Counterpoint, Twentieth century History and Analysis, Composition and Principles of Orchestration, Aural skills (Classical, Jazz, Pop ) and Dissertation.  His research interests include Miklos Rozsa and the Hollywood Epic in the 1950s/ 1960s, The ballet music of Igor Stravinsky, and The symphony in England and America in the Twentieth century.  

Career highlights include the European Brass Band Championship 2006 (Belfast), Gala night commission: A Night at the Movies, and Grassington Festival: Adagio for Strings. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts and a member of the American Society of Music Arrangers and Composers.
