The Course

Immerse yourself in a week of playing and singing, under the guidance of expert tutors from our BA Jazz pathway. The week is packed full of tuition in repertoire, composition, vocabulary, theory, harmony and stage craft; alongside the development of your aural and performance skills. With a focus on creativity, the week will offer you the chance to explore a range of styles from blues, straight ahead jazz, Latin and modal jazz. As part of the course there is an informal studio session at the end of the week so you will have a recording to take away.

The course is designed for a range of musical interests and abilities. Previous participants have included established jazz learners looking for new ideas and approaches, players who have attended our Jazz Improvisation weekends, musicians and teachers with a good reading ability that are relatively new to jazz, and classical, pop and rock musicians keen to explore the jazz and blues side of their playing.
