Rob Mitchell


BA, MMus

Robin Mitchell is a jazz saxophonist born in Edinburgh, currently living and working in Leeds. He studied for his BA (Hons) degree and his Masters (Mmus) in Jazz at Leeds College of Music. He now lectures on the BTEC and BA courses at Leeds College of Music.

Rob performs regularly around the country and can often be seen performing at venues such as the Wardrobe and the HiFi in Leeds. Rob frequently performs with various bands including his own quartet, Jacuzzi 500, Capri, Cara & the Robinsons and Chunky But Funky.

Recently Rob has performed with Martha Reeves, Ian Ballamy, Mike Gibbs, Dominic Miller and has recorded with the BBC Big Band and broadcast on BBC Radio 2.

He composes a large amount of his own music, recently completing a commissioned piece for a short channel 4 film.
