Community Classes - General Information

Refund of Tuition Fees

If you decide to withdraw from any course, refund of your tuition fee is at the discretion of the College in line with the Access and Outreach Department’s Refund of Tuition Fees Policy. Copies of the Policy will be available at enrolment or on request from the Performance and Community Engagement Department. Refunds will be pro rata and subject to an administration fee.

Closure of Courses

The College reserves the right to cancel a course when the number of students enrolled or attending is too low. In the event of this happening you may be transferred, wherever possible, to another suitable course. When this is not possible your fees will be refunded (pro rata) in line with the Refund of Tuition Fees Policy.

Examinations

Students wishing to take external examinations (including GCSE Music, Associated Board, Trinity, and Rock School) will be required to pay their own fee.

For instrumental examinations, if an accompanist is required an additional fee will be payable.

If you fail to sit an examination for which you have been entered you may be liable for payment of the examination fee.

For further information about examinations and fees, please contact the Exams Team on 0113 222 3413.

Support for Students with Disabilities

We welcome applications from people with any kind of disability, and are committed to providing specific support for students with disabilities. For students attending courses at our main site, this support is co-ordinated by the Student Disability Advisor. The Student Support Unit offers information on available specialist equipment and computer software, access to special exam arrangements, and individual support and guidance.

The College occupies modern purpose built premises with lift access to all floors and wheelchair access to all facilities. Potential applicants are strongly encouraged to visit the College by arrangement with the Student Disability Advisor to discuss their individual support needs in more detail.

For further information please contact the Student Disability Advisor, on 0113 222 3421.

Other College Information

All students are expected to abide by the College’s General Regulations, Equality & Diversity Policy and Health & Safety Policy. Copies of these for reference will be available at enrolment. There will also be information about how to join the Leeds College of Music Student Union.
