Performance and Community Engagement Department

Welcome

The Performance and Community Engagement Department runs an extensive
programme of community classes that attract part-time students to the College and to our Outreach centres around Leeds each term.

The aim of the department is to provide access to music for as many people as possible. So whatever your interests or musical abilities, there will be something for you here.

Whether you want to sing in a choir or play in a band, whether you are a beginner or more experienced, our aim is to help you fulfil your musical aspirations.

Equality and Diversity

Leeds College of Music celebrates and values diversity, and believes that it will benefit from engaging a workforce that is truly representative of society, thus allowing it to meet the needs of a similarly diverse student population.

The College will treat all employees and students with respect and dignity, and seek to provide a positive working and learning environment free from discrimination, harassment and victimisation.

The College will work towards the elimination of discriminatory practices
and behaviour whether overt or covert, and will seek to ensure that individuals and communities have equal access to learning programmes and facilities.

Comitment to Students

We value diversity and are determined to ensure that:

• we treat all individuals fairly, with dignity and respect.

• the opportunities we provide are open to all.

• we provide a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for all staff,
students and visitors.

• students have a range of curriculum choices and impartial guidance so that
they are enabled to achieve realistic goals and qualifications with support appropriate to their individual needs.

Please tell us about any requirements that you may have and we will be happy to discuss these with you.
