We are still accepting applications to our Songwriting pathway, all instruments.

ACADEMIC ENTRY REQUIREMENTS


Single Pathway/Combined Degree

  • 96 UCAS tariff points from Level 3 studies, or equivalent, which normally include A Level Music or a BTEC Extended Diploma in a Music-related subject, and can include music grade exams.

  • A minimum of 3 GCSEs including English Language at grade C or above or equivalent.

 

Degree with Foundation Year

  • 64 UCAS tariff points from Level 3 studies, or equivalent, which normally include A Level Music or a BTEC Extended Diploma in a Music-related subject, and can include music grade exams.

  • A minimum of 3 GCSEs including English Language at grade C or above or equivalent.

Music Entry Requirements


Single Pathway

  • ABRSM Grade 5 Theory standard (assessed at audition/interview).

  • ABRSM Grade 8 standard (Popular) in specialist study instrument/voice (assessed at audition).

 

Degree with Foundation Year

  • ABRSM Grade 6 standard in specialist study instrument/voice

  • ABRSM Grade 5 Theory standard (assessed at audition). Students who are not at this level will have to take Theory as their major option in Year 1.

 

Combined Degree
Popular with Production

  • ABRSM Grade 5 Theory standard (assessed at audition).

  • ABRSM Grade 8 standard in specialist study instrument/voice in Popular (assessed at audition)


Popular with Jazz/Classical

  • ABRSM Grade 5 Theory or equivalent qualification.

  • ABRSM Grade 8 standard (performers) or ABRSM Grade 6 standard (Jazz/Classical composers) in specialist study instrument/voice (assessed at audition).

 

AUDITION INFORMATION

Popular applicants will need to complete an audition. Applicants combining Popular with another genre will need to complete an audition for each pathway.

Tuition Fees & Living Costs

2017/18 tuition fees are £9,250 per year for Home/EU students.
The fees are per academic year and may be subject to government-approved increases in future years.

Tuition fees pay for the cost of teaching, assessment, validation, the facilities, support and administration of your course.

Living Costs

Student Finance

Tuition Fee Loan
Home and EU students don't have to pay any tuition fees up-front, or while they are studying. You can apply for a Tuition Fee Loan from the Student Loans Company and the fee will be paid directly to the conservatoire on your behalf.
