ACADEMIC ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • 96 UCAS tariff points from Level 3 studies, or equivalent, which normally include A Level Music or a BTEC Extended Diploma in a Music-related subject, and can include music grade exams.

  • A minimum of 3 GCSEs including English Language at grade C or above or equivalent.

Music Entry Requirements

  • ABRSM Grade 5 Theory standard (assessed at audition/interview).

  • ABRSM Grade 8 standard in specialist study instrument/voice (assessed at audition).

Tuition Fees & Living Costs

2017/18 tuition fees are £9,250 per year for Home/EU students.
The fees are per academic year and may be subject to government-approved increases in future years.

Tuition fees pay for the cost of teaching, assessment, validation, the facilities, support and administration of your course.

Living Costs

Student Finance

Tuition Fee Loan
Home and EU students don't have to pay any tuition fees up-front, or while they are studying. You can apply for a Tuition Fee Loan from the Student Loans Company and the fee will be paid directly to the conservatoire on your behalf.

Excellence Scholarships for Folk

Excellence scholarships of £2,000 are available to outstanding Home or EU applicants, for the BA (Hons) Music (Folk). The scholarship will be paid as cash during year 1 of studies, to assist with living costs. 
 
You do not need to apply for this scholarship – if you are identified as a potential recipient, we will get in touch with you after audition/interview.
