We launched our BA (Hons) Music (Business) pathway in 2014, but many of our performance graduates have gone on to launch entrepreneurial enterprises as a result of the embedded business skills in all of our degree pathways.


Matt Cheshire

  • Studied BTEC Commercial Music Production and Management at LCoM in 2000.

  • Managing Director of The Needs Group, a concierge service working across different sectors including artists, aviation, and VIPs.


Beckie Morley

  • Graduated from our Classical Music course in 2011.

  • Founder of Musical Moments, a social enterprise providing musical sessions to both early years and those living with dementia.

  • In 2014 Musical Moments was awarded the‘Most Promising New Business of 2014’ by the East Cheshire Chamber of Commerce, The Theo Paphitis #SBS (Small Business Sunday) competition and the‘Social Enterprise of the Year’ Award at the Silk FM Local Hero Awards. In 2015 it was shortlisted for the Everybody ‘Health and Well-Being’ award and nominated for the ‘Dementia and the Arts’ award at the International Dementia Awards.


Ben McAvoy

  • Graduated from Leeds College of Music in 2007.

  • After graduating he set up his own company, Wave Media Productions, which composes bespoke music for advertising, television and non-broadcast media sectors.


Gavin Miller

  • 2007 Music Production graduate.

  • In 2011 Gavin founded ‘This Is It Forever’ in 2011 as an offshoot of a promotions company by the same name.

  • The record label, based in Manchester, promotes primarily electronic and experimental music although there are no genre restrictions
