.. that the studio drums needed more regular maintenance

We have organised for a professional Drum Technician to come in approximately every 10 weeks to fully service all the studio drum kits

.. that there neeeded to be more high quality microphones

We have bought in 2 Brauner Phantom V's, which are multi polar pattern and 2 SE Electronic X1R Ribbon microphones

.. that the room booker service was proving problematic

We took control over all studio bookings, allowing students to get answers to questions and problems from the Studio Counter

.. that there wasn't enough access to recording studios during the day due to teaching

We built 3 high quality studios with fantastic outboard gear and a booth that have no teaching in them. We also limited booking times to 3 hour slots, allowing more students access throughout the week

.. that there needed to be more studio equipment We invested in putting Neve 1073 Preamps into each studio and and installed Valhalla plugins onto each Mac. We will continue to look at how we can improve the equipment when funds are available.
.. that the college was closing too early during the Easter vacation, when assignments and assessments were due soon after. We changed the opening times to open later, allowing much more available time in the studios. This has also been replicated into the new calendars to reflect this decision.
