All students that come to Leeds College of Music have the opportunity to use the studios, whether it's on the Producers side of the glass, or the artists.
Production students are able to book studios and mixing rooms up to 2 weeks in advance using the Conservatoire's Online Room Booker. Performance students can advertise around the college for producers to record them and use the online LCoM Life site too.
Professional Recording Suites
Leeds College of Music has 6 professional recording studios, each with a mixing console. They can be booked by all Music Production pathway students up to 2 weeks in advance.
The conservatoire has four Audient ASP8024 mixing consoles, one ASP4816 console one SSL 4000G and each room has at least one live room attached to them.
For more information about what's in each studio, and for more pictures of each room, existing staff and students can visit our Space page here for further details
The conservatoire has 7 various mixing rooms. Some of the mixing studios have small booths attached to them, ideal for capturing the vocals of your nearly finished track, or adding an extra guitar track to your mix.
One of our studios has a 5.1 surround sound setup and an HD projector, making it perfect for cueing up your sound effects and music with film footage.
To get the best out of your recordings, you need the best equipment to help you.
Each studio has a Macintosh computer running Pro Tools 11 and Logic X, (including 2 Pro Tools HD studios) and has a Lynx Aurora converter to keep your recordings sound clean all the way from analogue to digital.
The outboard varies from room to room, however you will find equipment such as:
And many more! We encourage all Production students to experiment with the equipment and find the sound they want. The Studio Technicians will help with any questions, problems or queries that you encounter on your way.
