Tim Ochala-Greenough

Senior Lecturer in Voice

Tim Ochala-Greenough is a Senior Lecturer in Voice. He studied piano and singing at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester, music at London University, musicology at Nottingham University, and voice at the Royal Northern College of Music.

He has been a voice teacher for over 15 years. He has sung for numerous opera companies, including Opera North, Carl Rosa Opera, Pavilion Opera (including the Educational Trust), Opera Project, Welsh National Opera and  English National Opera.  

His concert debut was a performance of Benjamin Britten’s unpublished songs at the 1996 Aldeburgh Festival and in 2013 he returned to Aldeburgh to film the cinema/DVD of Grimes on the Beach.  

Tim has also been a tutor on Rose Bruford College’s BA in Opera Studies and is an experienced chorus master/musical director.

His vocal specialism is the teaching of vocal technique for young and developing voices, and is currently researching into the influence and effectiveness of graded examinations on the vocal technique of singing students on UK higher education music courses.
