Using the Library

Information for Visitors and Guests

The conservatoire Library is closed to the general public but we do offer guest memberships. Please see below for the various memberships available.

SCONUL Access visitors

If you are a postgraduate, or undergraduate student from a Higher Education institution participating in the SCONUL Access scheme  you can apply for free Guest User membership of the Library. 

Licensing restrictions means Guest Users aren't able to use our PCs or electronic resources.

Please ask at your home insitution for further information.

Membership lasts for a maximum of 3 years from the date of your application unless your course or contract ends earlier. If you are still eligible you can reapply for membership.

Before visiting

Please let us know 24 hours prior to your planned visit.

You will need to bring with you:

  • your Sconul Access email confirmation

  • and your ID card from your academic institution.

Visiting the Jazz Archive

Anyone interested in visiting the Leeds College of Music Jazz Archive may do so by arranged appointment only. Please email Claire Marsh

Alumni and external membership

If you are alumni or a former member of staff you may apply to become an external member of the library and borrow items. See here for external membership information
