Childcare Assistance

Higher Education students with dependent children can apply for a Parents Learning Allowance and a Childcare Grant. More details are available at www.direct.gov.uk/studentfinance

If you would like to apply for one of our Further Education courses but are worried about meeting the costs of childcare, we may be able to help. The College can provide financial assistance towards the cost of childcare with a registered childcare provider. This financial assistance is available to full-time Further Education students over the age of 20 only. The level of assistance available will be assessed on an individual basis and will be dependent on your circumstances and income. Any financial assistance provided will usually be paid directly to the carer and will be dependent on continued attendance.

Further Education Students who are aged 16 to 20 can apply for childcare funding through the Care to Learn Scheme. Further information is available at www.directgov.uk/caretolearn
