The Careers Service at Leeds College of Music aims to offer a friendly, impartial and confidential service for full-time HE and FE students, throughout the College. There is a range of services to meet your individual needs.
Full-time Leeds College of Music students can access information, advice and guidance in any of the following ways:

For quick queries without an appointment
Individual Appointment
Individual appointments give students the opportunity for an in-depth consultation, which may involve the use of career matching software, or CV and application form advice. Appointments generally last for about 30 – 45 minutes and are conducted in a private environment. You must book in advance for all individual appointments.
Email
The Careers Advisor can offer advice and information by email if you prefer, but we may recommend that you make an appointment for an interview depending on the level of service required.
Telephone
Students can phone the Careers Advisor during normal office hours. When unavailable there is a voicemail system.
Careers Room
The Careers Room contains a range of occupational and educational materials, which you can browse or take away. It also contains Career Matching programs, prospectuses, occupational guides, journals and leaflets.
The Careers Adviser can help students to:
- Decide on the most suitable programme of study
- Discuss music/non-music careers
- Help with the CUKAS & UCAS process
- Assist with CV writing/job interview preparation

Connexions
The College has a Connexions personal advisor, Sylvester Leader, who is available for one day per week, to see students aged 16 to 19 in need of support regarding any personal issues which they may need advice on. Sylvester can be contacted on 07738 212033.
